Ken Barlow (William Roache), the legendary icon of Coronation Street, is set to take a stand against the shady Rowan Cunliffe (Emrhys Cooper) in the coming week.
For most of this year, Leanne Battersby has been deeply involved with the Altovalent Institute, a seemingly sinister cult led by Rowan. He convinced her to invest £40,000 in his new resource center, and after a successful few months, he promoted her to a higher ‘level,’ allowing her to recruit new members.
Seeing Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) overwhelmed with university work, shifts at the Bistro, and managing her mum’s flower shop, Leanne saw her as the perfect candidate for recruitment. Despite Toyah (Georgia Taylor) warning Amy about the Institute’s dubious nature, Amy ignored the advice and decided to join one of the Institute’s enigmatic ‘retreats.’
In upcoming scenes, Rowan reassures Leanne, who is beginning to doubt whether distancing herself from Toyah during her cancer treatment was the right decision. Meanwhile, Amy reveals to Leanne that she wants to invest some of her inheritance money from her late grandmother Deirdre, but she’ll need Ken’s approval first.
