Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) has left Coronation Street after a dramatic exit storyline that even took us by surprise.

The character decided to leave Weatherfield recently, adamant too much had happened on the cobbles and that she could benefit from a fresh start.

Before her departure though, Daisy plotted revenge against Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews). It involved the pub being put up for sale, a lot of money, a catfish called Dom, and Daisy’s biological mother Christina (Amy Robbins).

A few days ago, Daisy started regretting the cruel plan when she found Jenny upset and in a panic. Moments prior, Daisy had seen Christina and Dom together and worked out her mum was planning on double crossing her.

Daisy then dropped a hint to Jenny, which ultimately allowed her to work out Christina was behind the catfishing account.

A grateful Jenny tried to tell Daisy that she didn’t need to leave, but the character wasn’t going to be swayed. In tonight’s episode, she packed up the last of her things and told Jenny she’d be leaving for Brighton in a few hours.

It gave Daisy enough time to say goodbye to the likes of Daniel (Rob Mallard), Ryan (Ryan Prescott) and little Bertie, as well as put the final touches to her plan.

A while later, just as Daisy got into her taxi, she was stopped by Daniel, who wanted them to start again together. As much as Daisy wanted this to happen, she knew she needed to leave alone.

As this final conversation was taking place, Christina was back in the pub after spending a night in a cell. She set about finding Jenny, and told her to look at her bank account.

To her horror, Jenny discovered the £60k had disappeared, and it didn’t take the characters very long at all to work out Daisy had stolen it.

Back in the taxi, Daisy popped her sunglasses on and smiled. She was off to Bali, not Brighton – and her spectacular plot had been a success.

As Daisy left, Ryan, Julie (Katy Cavanagh), Daniel, Kit (Jacob Roberts) and Jenny were reading letters from her. Julie had been given money, Ryan was told to buy some new DJ decks, Kit was given a bottle of whisky, Daniel was gifted some tickets to Disneyland and Jenny?

Absolutely nothing.
