Bill Fellows played Stu Carpenter until October last year, when his character left the cobbles for Germany.
And now the actor has landed a new role in a rival soap – as he joins the cast of Casualty.
The 67-year-old has already started filming his scenes for the long-running medical show.
Fans have been left thrilled by his casting as Bill took to social media to share snaps from Casualty.
It’s currently unclear as to who Bill will play but he recently shared a behind the scenes snap of him getting into character as he wore an NHS pass around his neck.
He also shared another snap that showed him donning some special effects make up for what looked to be a dramatic episode.
Bill had gruesome arm and head injury – indicating that his character will be at the centre of the drama.
Meanwhile, Bill’s casting comes after fans feared for the future of Casualty after the BBC announced a major behind-the-scenes shakeup.

And now it’s been revealed Beeb bosses will no longer produce the drama as they seek a new production company to take over.
Since 2012, BBC Cymru Wales has produced episodes of Casualty, having taken over from BBC Bristol.
Addressing fan fears, the BBC said the show will continue to be made in Cardiff and it remains an important part of Wales’ output.
David Pembrey, Chief Operating Officer, BBC Content, said: “The award-winning Casualty is a hugely important continuing drama which has been on our screens since 1986.
“We are opening it to competition as part of our ongoing commitment to delivering the very best value for audiences.”
