Richard Fleeshman, best known for his role as Craig Harris on Coronation Street, is set to become a father for the first time with his actress fiancée, Celinde Schoenmaker.
Taking to Instagram, Celinde shared the joyous news with a heartwarming video. In the clip, she walks towards their pet cat, Luna, showcasing her growing baby bump. Accompanying the video, Celinde wrote, “We’ve not met you yet, but never been more in love.”
She added a playful note, “I don’t think Luna realizes she’s not gonna be the cutest in the household for much longer,” before tagging Richard and expressing excitement about the “many new adventures ahead.”
The couple’s announcement was met with an outpouring of congratulations from their showbiz friends. Former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher commented, “Congratulations guys. You’ll be the most amazing parents! The start of an incredible journey.” Meanwhile, Celebrity Big Brother star and musical theatre actress Marisha Wallace exclaimed, “FINALLY WE CAN SCREAM! MY BABY!”
Richard and Celinde got engaged during a safari trip in Africa in 2022, with Richard proposing.
Richard’s portrayal of Craig Harris on Coronation Street from 2002 to 2006 included memorable storylines, such as when Craig and Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) embraced a goth lifestyle.
After leaving the show, Richard transitioned to stage acting, starring in West End and Broadway productions, including Ghost: The Musical, Legally Blonde, and Sondheim’s Company. In 2022, he appeared in the Netflix series The Sandman and has since featured in Death in Paradise and The Ark, among other projects.
