Iconic ITV trio reunite after 18 years in Coronation Street

Coronation Street’s Tony Maudsley is feeling very lucky to have reunited with some of his old co-stars after 18 years.
Tony currently plays George Shuttleworth in the soap – the owner of Victoria Street’s funeral parlour and current partner of Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver).
Just down the road from them both is the Rovers Return boozer, and there’s trouble at mill for Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) and her stepmum Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews).
As part of Daisy’s exit storyline, her biological mother Christina has returned, who is played by Tony Maudsley’s good friend Amy Robbins.
If that wasn’t enough where soap crossovers are concerned, Amy and Tony are now working alongside another of their pals – Natalie Anderson.
Natalie has been cast in the ITV soap as Danielle, the partner of Theo (James Cartwright).
Little does she realise, Theo is having an extra-marital affair with Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce)!
Speaking about joining the Coronation Street cast, Natalie said: ‘I’m delighted and honoured to be stepping on to the cobbles.

‘Coronation Street is an institution and especially if you’re a northerner like me, it’s part of the fabric of our upbringing.
‘I’m not going to lie, I did have a little tear when I started as I felt an immense sense of pride walking around the sets where so many incredible actors and characters have gone before.
‘It’s also lovely to be working with ITV who I’ve spent so many years with throughout my career, it’s been wonderful to see so many familiar faces. I’m having the loveliest time!’.
Tony, Amy and Natalie previously worked together on another of ITV’s hit dramas, but what was it, and who did they play?

Which ITV drama did Tony, Amy and Natalie work on?
The trio collaborated on period medical drama The Royal in 2007.
The series, a spin-off of Heartbeat, and followed staff at the St Aidan’s Royal Free Hospital in the seaside town of Elsinby.
It originally aired between 2003 and 2011, but repeats continue to air on ITV3.
Recently, Tony took to social media platform X to share a picture reuniting with Amy and Natalie. In the caption, he references working on the show with them, and how brilliant it is they are now working together again.
Honestly, what are the chances?!

‘”When shall we three meet again?” The last time we were all together was 18 years ago on The Royal. So lovely to now be having a little reunion on the cobbles. #Corrie with Amy Robbins & Natalie Anderson’, he wrote.
Amy was a regular face at the hospital throughout the series’ run, appearing as Dr Jill Weatherill. In the fourth series she married Dr Gordon Ormerod, played by her real life husband Robert Daws.
Natalie played senior nurse Stella Davenport, whilst Tony was Jimmy Beattie in four episodes.
