Coronation Street Shock: Joel Deering Faces Consequences After Forcing Lauren Bolton into Early Labour
Joel Deering (Calum Lill) took horrifying action against Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) in tonight’s Coronation Street episode when he drugged her with labor-inducing pills.
Lauren went missing earlier this year and was presumed dead after being brutally beaten by Joel, but she later reappeared with the news that she was pregnant with his child.
Knowing that the baby was evidence linking him to Lauren, Joel devised a vile plan to get rid of it by drugging Lauren and forcing her into early labor.
In a terrifying move, he orchestrated a mugging that resulted in Lauren’s phone being stolen, leaving her completely shaken.
Back at the flat, he prepared a meal for her, crushing the pills so she wouldn’t notice what she was ingesting.
After she ate, he pretended to go out to buy her a new phone but instead locked her inside the flat, where she soon went into labor.
Luckily, best friend Max Turner (Paddy Bever) tracked her down thanks to an app on his phone, and soon the fire brigade arrived to free her from the flat.
When Bobby explained that Lauren was in the hospital and had gone into labor, both Joel and his fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) rushed over to offer their condolences, believing she had received bad news.
However, Joel was in for a huge shock when he learned that, despite being born at just 24 weeks, his son had survived and was being cared for in the special care unit.
With Joel’s plan backfiring, how far will he go to keep Lauren quiet about his actions?
