Gary takes action in Coronation Street as a child’s life is on the line
Gary Windass (Mikey North) once again proves he’s prepared to do whatever it takes to protect someone he loves, as Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall) comes close to Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan) in a tense moment in Coronation Street.
Last year, Mason and Dylan (Liam McCheyne) made Liam’s life a misery by relentlessly bullying him in and out of school.
The ordeal got so bad, Liam started to feel hopeless and began researching ways he could end his life. Fortunately, he was found by Gary and Maria (Samia Longchambon) before anything happened.
As a result of Mason threatening Liam with a knife during this, he was arrested and sent to prison.
When he was released, Mason struggled to adapt to life in Weatherfield after time behind bars. Luck was on his side eventually though, as the teen found a friend in Stu (Bill Fellows), who gave him a job at Speed Daal.
After help from Stu and Yasmeen (Shelley King), Mason has really tried his best to remain on the straight and narrow.
In upcoming episodes, his changed behaviour is highlighted again when he grabs Liam after unwittingly stepping out in front of Chesney’s (Sam Aston) car.
Pulling Liam to safety, Mason uses this moment to tell him how sorry he is for the bullying, and is now a changed person.
Having witnessed their exchange, Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) later tells Gary, who decides to take matters into his own hands.
But what will happen?
If Liam believes that Mason really has changed, will Gary leave him alone?
