Fingers are pointed and speculation is rife in Coronation Street next week, as confirmed in my new pictures, with more suspects set to enter the frame in the curious case of who killed Joel Deering (Calum Lill). Joel, as viewers know, vanished without a trace a number of weeks ago, with DS Swain (Vicky Myers) wasting little time in investigating the disappearance. The detective was subsequently kicked off the case after messages from Joel to Betsy (Sydney Martin) were found on the creep’s phone, with Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) taking over as lead detective and soon after a big discovery was made. Joel’s dead body was uncovered and a murder investigation was launched soon afterwards. Given how much everyone hated Joel, there are suspects aplenty and, next week, Lisa herself is facing implication. The much-loved character is hiding some bruises, which daughter Betsy spies in upcoming scenes, asking her mum where she got them. Lisa claims that a body combat exercise is to blame but Betsy isn’t convinced as she finds a bottle of painkillers, dated September 28. With Joel having been murdered on September 27, will Betsy come to believe that her own mum is to blame? What’s more, will Kit come to the same conclusion as his frustrations over Swain’s involvement in his case continue? Lisa is left upset when a complaint is made against her at work – and it seems as though Kit might have been the one to make it! Oh dear. Away from work, Lisa receives praise from Carla Connor (Alison King), who commends her for handling a full-time job all the while juggling motherhood but, as Carla lays a comforting hand on her, Lisa flinches and makes a swift exit. With unexpected connections explored and a big development in the murder case, Coronation Street is proving unmissable once more next week (Picture: ITV) Much like the fans are hoping, it seems there is more to their connection than just friendship! Elsewhere on the cobbles during the week in question, Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) receives heartbreaking news about his job while Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) is left devastated by Kit’s underhanded move. It’s a week not to be missed.
