Coronation Street confirms who stole Damon Hay’s money in early ITVX release
The truth is revealed.
Coronation Street has resolved the mystery of Damon Hay’s missing money.
The truth was revealed in Monday’s episode, as David Platt was shown to be hiding a guilty secret.
Late last month, jailed criminal Damon tried to get in touch with his ex-lover Sarah Platt to alert her to the whereabouts of some dirty money that he’d set aside in a lock-up after his involvement in an armed robbery.
Damon wanted Sarah to use the secret stash to pay for her daughter Bethany’s medical bills after her botched cosmetic surgery in Turkey.
By the time Adam Barlow passed Damon’s message on to Sarah, the money had mysteriously disappeared. Suspicion initially fell onto returning character Jesse Chadwick amid fears that he’d overheard the Platt family talking about the secret.
In Monday’s episode, Mason Radcliffe’s older brother Logan put on a balaclava and broke into Sarah’s flat in the hope of finding the cash. He was following orders from Damon’s brother Harvey Gaskell, who’d masterminded the robbery earlier this year.
Sarah and Bethany ultimately managed to scare off the intruder, who went away empty-handed. However, Sarah shocked Bethany by insisting that they couldn’t contact the police without implicating their own family.
Later, Sarah warned David that Harvey was on the warpath over the missing money.
The sinister threat hit home when Sarah received an anonymous phone call, confirming that she was in danger and Damon wouldn’t be able to protect her from prison.
Once alone at No.8 again, David was seen sneakily checking on the bag of cash in the cupboard underneath the stairs, which confirmed the huge secret that he’s keeping from his family.
David’s plan won’t stay under wraps for long, as this week’s spoilers have already teased that Jesse makes a surprising discovery in the cupboard later this week.
Will Jesse keep quiet or expose David’s guilt?
