Demon child Hope causes another fire in Coronation Street
Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) returns to her pyromaniac ways in Coronation Street next week.
Hope has always been a troubled young girl but as she’s grown up, she’s stepped away from the very dramatic antics such as kidnapping and threatening people with hammers and has been faced with slightly more realistic ordeals like peer pressure and relationship problems.
In recent episodes, Hope has developed a worrying interest in vapes. She started doing this primarily to impress the older kids at her school such as Dylan (Liam McCheyne) and Jack (Kyran Bowes).
After word got out that Jack set fire to Stefan’s offices and car, an intrigued Hope dumped Sam (Jude Riordan) and decided to spend a lot more time with Kevin’s (Michael Le Vell) son.
Because naïve Hope doesn’t understand the dangers of becoming addicted to vaping, it’s no surprise that she gets caught out by Ruby (Billie Naylor) next week.
When Mrs Crawshaw pops by to speak with Fiz (Jennie McAlpine), Ty (Alan Halsall) and Hope, the young girl manages to convince them all that she’s stopped smoking.
While the trio is pleased, Hope is far from impressed when Mrs Crawshaw tells her she can return to school now her habit has been apparently beaten.
Just as Mrs Crawshaw departs, Hope sneaks her vape out of the sideboard. She’s interrupted, however, due to Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) calling her for some help in the shop.
She stuffs her vape into the sideboard and runs out, failing to notice a curl of smoke escaping from the drawer.
With Ruby due home from school, is Hope about to put her sister in serious danger?
