Coronation Street fans spot huge pregnancy clue – and Joel’s the father
ITV Coronation Street viewers are convinced they've worked out an unexpected twist as one of the cobbles' residents could be set to welcome a baby in the coming months
Coronation Street viewers reckon they’ve cracked the case of a potential new arrival in Weatherfield after Friday’s episode dropped a massive hint.
Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown), was seen feeling queasy at Roy’s cafe with her dad and uncle before heading to Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) plea hearing.
When her dad suggested she eat something to face her ex-fiance Joel, Dee-Dee confessed: “To be honest, I don’t think I can keep anything down. I keep getting these waves of nausea.”
Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges) reassured her that they were close to putting Joel behind them, but Dee-Dee seemed distracted and only sheepishly agreed.
Her comment about feeling sick didn’t seem to raise any suspicions with her family, but eagle-eyed fans were quick to pick up on it, reports the Liverpool Echo.
One fan speculated: “Dee-Dee is gonna be pregnant.”
Another chimed in: “Dee-Dee experiencing Morning sickness – is she pregnant with Joel’s baby?”
A third viewer asserted: “#Corrie Dee-Dee is pregnant!”
While another added: “Seeing a lot of Dee-Dee is pregnant tweets, but I thought she was very much celibate until her wedding night. If she DID sleep with Joel they’ve deliberately hidden that it happened for a surprise pregnancy.”
And one fan pointed out: “How thick are people now Dee-Dee is pregnant and doesn’t realise it.”
One viewer took to social media, asking: “Are we to wonder whether Dee-Dee is pregnant in @itvcorrie #Corrie.”
In the latest episode, Dee-Dee was clearly emotional as she kept thinking it should have been her wedding day.
She was shocked when Joel failed to show up for their court hearing, with no one having any idea of his whereabouts.
The judge declared that Joel would be taken into custody once located due to his failure to appear.
Meanwhile, Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) was terrified that he would come after her again and take their baby.
Joel didn’t stay missing for long though, as he turned up at Roy Cropper’s (David Neilson) place after apparently having a few too many drinks and apologised for all the harm he’d caused.
However, it appeared he had a scheme in mind as viewers saw him pour away his drink and sober up quickly before leaving the cafe.
After this strange encounter, Roy voiced his concerns to Dee-Dee and Lauren in the cafe, suggesting that Joel might be a danger to himself.
Towards the end of the episode, Joel was seen in a car leaving an emotional voicemail for Dee-Dee, pretending to be distraught.
