Home and Away star’s Dan Ewing found love again after divorce from co-star’s sister

Dan Ewing spent three years on Home and Away portraying one of the show’s favourite bad boys – Heath Braxton.

As a member of the River Boys, he got up to a host of trouble, from getting arrested several times to finding out he had two children – one from a secret affair many years ago and another from a once-off cheating scandal on his stag-do.

However, the soap also holds a close connection to the actor’s love life as he was previously married to his co-star’s sister.

Dan tied the knot for the first time on 15 December 2012 to fellow actor Marni Little. She is the sister to Matt Little, who took over the role of VJ Patterson on Home and Away in 2014.

The couple welcomed their son, Archer, in September 2014 before separating two years later in 2016.

Opening up about their divorce in 2016, he told the radio station KIIS: “Do you want my honest answer to this? The honest answer is I was a grumpy old fool and I was really hard to deal with.

“We were in the States and I wasn’t having a good time. I just didn’t like the people there. It wasn’t conducive to creativity or happiness, I thought.

“There was no major catalyst. Neither of us cheated on each other, nothing like that. I never said, ‘Hey, you guys don’t make me happy’, but just by being unhappy in myself, I was unhappy. It’s still the biggest regret of my life and I would take it back.”

He added: “Just not appreciating what I had. I was so concentrated on what I was going to do next and my ego and just being a typical idiot male Gemini. I was just unhappy.

“We didn’t particularly like it much over there [in the US] – we missed our family. But I well and truly didn’t appreciate what I had and now the sad part is that it’s made me a much better father and better man than I probably ever would have been.”

However, Dan found love again with actress Kat Risteska. They announced their engagement on 24 December 2021.

They welcomed their first child together in July 2022, with them naming their daughter Nevaeh.

The couple have been together for eight years, with Dan penning a tribute to her last year. He said: “Some things change.. some stay the same. ..Who would have thought that my weeks of stalking and down right harassment would have led to this?

“Now, I would never condone such acts …BUT in my particular case it landed me the woman of my dreams and her squishy little clone that happens to think I’m awesome. Do with that as you will.

“Happy 7th anniversary @katristeska ! I am truly honoured to be creepily obsessed with now and forever my Queen”.
