The video quickly took a dark turn as breathless Alf clutched his chest and fell to the ground. “But it’s his heart that will send shockwaves through the Bay,” the narrator continued.

With the beloved character in hospital, it was revealed that Bree Cameron will be the one in charge of his recovery. However, with the doctor still struggling after Felicity Newman’s death, will she be able to save Alf?

“This can’t be happening. I will never watch again,” one wrote. “If Alf dies because of Bree’s incompetence I won’t watch ever again,” agreed a second.

Other viewers seemed unfazed by the upcoming ordeal, pointing out that Alf has survived plenty of hardships during his 36 years on the show. “Nothing will kill Alf off. He’s had every illness known to man and been in car crashes, plane crashes, bush fires, explosions, you name it,” one wrote.

Another added: “Mr Stewart will be fine, I’m sure he’s the heart of Summer Bay. He’s had lots of heart attacks and always come out fine.”
