SHOCKING NEWS: ITV Coronation Street character’s exit ‘sealed’ after 19 years on the soap

Coronation Street spoilers hint at a potential exit for one character. The reckless actions of Aadi Alahan – played by Adam Hussain – and the character’s criminal activities seem set to catch up with him in upcoming episodes of the popular ITV soap.

Dev Alahan’s (Jimmi Harkishin) son is struggling to cope with recent events and turns to alcohol for comfort. His mounting debt, the theft from his family in a staged robbery, and his drug use leading to Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) injuries after a house party all contribute to his downward spiral.
Actor Adam Hussain recently confirmed he was leaving the role, indicating that Aadi’s departure was inevitable. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter.
Since then, Aadi’s life has begun to unravel, with his relationship with Lauren based on lies, and his stepmother Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) hiding his deceit from the family and trying to help him repay the money he owes.
Things reach a climax next week, with spoilers suggesting a significant turning point, according to the Mirror.
Amid an incident at Dev and Bernie’s wedding that results in Bernie being rushed to hospital in a serious condition, Aadi resorts to alcohol. His relative Aunty Rani arrives at this point, and after contributing towards the wedding costs, she is eager to monitor what’s being spent. Aadi is in a state of panic, fully conscious that he’s attempting to cut corners to save money.
When the situation with Bernie escalates, the outcome is uncertain, but the family are all called to the hospital.
In the following episode, things become overwhelming and he resorts to alcohol. After a confrontation with Theo Silverton, he falls and hits his head, indicating Aadi is on a downward spiral.
As Lauren becomes increasingly concerned for her new boyfriend, it’s evident he’s avoiding her, unable to handle the guilt. So when she sets out to find him and does, she’s unprepared for what he’s about to reveal.
Aadi decides he can’t continue lying, and opts to tell Lauren about the LSD and how it was his drink laced with the drug that she ingested, leading to her severe injury. A photo depicts Lauren looking stunned, but how will she react to Aadi’s deceit?
Before long, Aadi determines that the truth must come out, and he braces himself to confess everything to his father Dev and the rest of his family. Viewers will have to tune in to see his reaction, and what this means for Aadi ahead of his exit from the show. All will be unveiled soon.
Aadi has been a part of the show since 2006, with Sunita introducing him and his twin sister Asha on the show. He was originally played by Zennon Ditchett from 2009 to 2019, and before that triplets Hannah, Harris & Ria Ahmed who had portrayed the character in 2006.
Adam Hussain then took over the role in 2020, and has been involved in significant storylines, including romantic entanglements with Summer Spellman, Amy Barlow, Kelly Neelan and Courtney Vance.
After 19 years, the character will be making his departure as his exit storyline will play out over the summer. Adam announced his departure via an Instagram post, stating: “I guess the secrets out now! As some of you may have heard, I will be leaving Coronation Street for new pastures.” You can read more here.
