SHOCKING NEWS: ITV Coronation Street’s Jack P. Shepherd shares on-set mishap ahead of big day
Coronation Street’s Jack P. Shepherd has been supported by fans as he spoke about a mishap during filming. The 37-year old has portrayed fan favourite troublemaker David Platt in Weatherfield since 2000. Jack co-hosts the ‘On The Sofa’ podcast alongside his Coronation Street co-stars Ben Price (Nick Tyldesley) and Colson Smith (Craig Tinker).
In one of the latest instalments of the show, Jack spoke about a recent incident on the cobbles when he wasn’t feeling well. He told listeners: “I got onto the set and I said to the director ‘we’ve probably got about an hour and a half before I am constantly throwing up’ and they were like ‘okay great’.”
However, he explained the director didn’t take him seriously and was instructing Jack, despite him feeling unwell. Jack said: “The director was going ‘so Jack what I want you to do, I want you to come out and we’ll do a little line run.'”
The soap star continued: “In my head I’m thinking, ‘I’m going to throw up.’ There were loads of paparazzi because they were just taking pictures of us filming.
“So we’re sort of like blocking the scene and the director’s still there and he’s trying to work out where to put the camera and I just thought ‘oh jeez’ and then I just felt this gush and I just threw up all over the director’s shoes. He kind of like stepped back and he went oh ‘you weren’t joking were you?”
Fans rushed to the comments on social media to support the star after the incident on set. One fan called Nicole wrote: “Ahhh, poor Jack.”
Catherine said: “I don’t blame him. If I’m at work and I’m warning the directors that I’m gonna be sick and nothing has been done yet, don’t blame me for what happens next.” Rebecca also added: “Aw poor Jack.”
