EXCLUSIVE: Coronation Street confirms huge Lisa shock as Betsy star reacts
There’s a tough week ahead for Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) in Coronation Street next week, as she faces Craig Tinker’s memorial service – but there’s more trouble on the cards.
As she and Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) admit how difficult the event will be, with Kit revealing that the family have asked him to make a speech, Carla Connor (Alison King) confides in Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) that she’s worried about Lisa.
In a bid to help Lisa take her mind off things, Carla comes up with a plan.
As the day of Craig’s memorial service arrives, Lisa apologises to Carla, before setting about distracting herself by going through some old files.
However, when Betsy comes snooping and tries to take a peek at one of the files, Lisa snatches it from her, leaving the curious teen intrigued.
Desperate to know what her mum was so keen to hide, Betsy confronts Lisa, who is quick to lie.

She tells Betsy that the file contains information about Betsy’s paternity, and that she can’t see it until she turns 18.
When Lisa arrives at the memorial service and notices Kit’s absence, she is worried, but soon steps up in his place to deliver a moving speech for Craig.
Meanwhile, Betsy clearly wants to know more about her mysterious findings, as Carla later returns home and catches her going through Lisa’s files – but what exactly has she dug up?
When Betsy shows a picture of the letter she’s found to Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), she reveals that she intends to get to the bottom of it…

When we caught up with actresses Cait and Sydney at the British Soap Awards, Cait shared her reaction to the twists in this story, saying: ‘I was tired reading it!’
‘There is a lot of drama coming up!’ Sydney agreed, continuing: ‘I’m intrigued for people to see it!’
When Lisa asks Betsy to join her for lunch the next day, Betsy makes out that she’s meeting Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne), who has recently been released from the STC.
However, that proves to be a lie when she and Lauren enter the prison visiting room.

As Betsy admits that she’s a nervous wreck, is she set to make a deal with the devil?
Meanwhile, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) drops her right in it when he lets slip to Lisa and Carla that Betsy ordered a cab to Highfield Prison.
How will they react?
As dramatic as this story is set to be, both Sydney Martin and Vicky Myers promised moments of light.
‘I don’t know how much we can say but there’s some exciting stuff coming up,’ Sydney promised.

‘There’s also some really sweet, important scenes in there. I can’t go into detail, but I’m glad that they’re airing.’
Later in the evening, Vicky told us that ‘there is a lot’ still to come.
‘There is a lot coming, but there’s also periods of time that they’re really happy, and there’s periods of time when it’s not going so well, but that’s indicative of any relationship, isn’t it? And any family life.
‘And living together in the small flat… Let’s see how they navigate all of that!’
