Drunk Debbie hits rock bottom after bad news in Coronation Street

Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) has been trying to carry on as normal after her devastating dementia diagnosis in Coronation Street, but things are set to get on top of her in upcoming scenes.
The businesswoman went to the doctor after experiencing what she thought were symptoms of the menopause, but was shocked when he revealed that she had likely had a mini stroke.
Further tests later confirmed the doctor’s fears that Debbie was suffering with young-onset vascular dementia.
Since her diagnosis, Debbie has made some drastic life changes by dumping partner Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan), and has thrown herself into work by planning an upcoming wedding fayre.
However, it all becomes too much for her next week when the wedding fayre gets underway and she’s faced with several setbacks.
When Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) won’t stop complaining about the position of the Speed Daal stand, an already stressed Debbie loses her temper and tries to move it herself, cutting her hand in the process.

Ronnie insists on accompanying her to A&E, but when the nurse asks about her medical history, Debbie demands that he leave.
The next day, Debbie meets Abi Webster (Sally Carman) for lunch and the pair order soft drinks.
However, when Debbie spots Ronnie, she switches her order to a large vodka, and things start to go downhill from there.

It isn’t long before Debbie is completely drunk, and when she staggers off to the toilet, Abi calls Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) for help.
As he arrives, he finds Debbie emotionally telling Abi that she’s had some bad news – will she reveal her diagnosis?
So far, Carl is the only other person who knows about Debbie’s dementia, despite his attempts to get her to open up to the rest of her family.
Is Debbie set to finally open up to Abi?
