Roy gets moving request after horrific truth about vile villain in Coronation Street

Roy Cropper (David Neilson) has taken on the role of father figure to countless Coronation Street icons over the years, and tonight’s episode saw him take another character under his wing.
Following in the footsteps of Fiz Dobbs (Jennie McAlpine), Becky McDonald (Katherine Kelly) and Carla Connor (Alison King), Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) sought guidance from the kindly cafe owner, making an emotional request at the same time.
Since Lauren’s biological father Reece (Scott Anson) was imprisoned, Roy has been on hand to try and help the troubled teen turn her life around.
Things went horrifically wrong after Roy was forced to sack her from her job at the cafe, with Lauren going missing for several months and Roy being arrested for her murder.
When she eventually showed up alive, Roy was released and Joel Deering exposed as her attacker.
Fortunately, there has been no bad blood between Roy and Lauren, with the cafe owner regularly looking out for her and son Frankie.

In tonight’s episode, Lauren learnt that Frankie’s condition was improving following his transplant.
However, she got quite a shock when he received a present from Reece.
Wanting to draw a line under her relationship with him, Lauren visited Reece in prison, where she revealed that being Frankie’s mum had shown her just what she’d missed out on as a child.

As Lauren heartbreakingly confronted her dad about ‘pimping her out’ to his mates when she was just 11-years-old, Reece cruelly denied any wrongdoing.
To further twist the knife, he told Lauren that he may not even be her biological father.
After making it clear to Reece that this would be their last correspondence, Lauren headed to the cafe to speak to Roy.

She confided in him about the conversation with her dad, and he was on hand to offer some steady advice, as always.
However, she brushed off his suggestion that she take a DNA test when she was feeling better, instead telling Roy she’d like to pretend he was her dad instead.
Is someone cutting onions?
Will Lauren stick to her guns, or will the need to know the truth about her paternity eat away at her, leading her on a quest for answers?
