Coronation Street star broke down in tears several times on set amid exit

Coronation Street star Charlotte Jordan has revealed her emotion upon leaving the ITV soap after four years.
The actress, 29, will be bowing out of her Daisy Midgeley role in the coming weeks, after quitting the show for pastures new.
Her explosive exit has already kicked off, with a vicious feud erupting between Daisy and her step-mum Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews).
Jen’ had taken her eyes off little Bertie Osbourne, and he almost drowned in a hot tub.
The moment took her back to the death of her own son Tom, who passed away twelve years ago. In shocking scenes, she blamed Daisy for his passing.
Since then we’ve seen Daisy and her mum Christina (Amy Robbins) enact a vicious plot – setting up a fake dating profile in the hope Jenny will give her savings to ‘him’, while they’d secretly reap the benefits.
The fella – Dom (Dominic Rickhards) – really does exist, but will try and tempt Jenny into a fake investment scheme on his business.
‘I think it’s very bittersweet for Daisy’ Charlotte explained, ahead of her departure.

‘Weatherfield has been her home for a while now and, early on, was giving her all the things she wanted – family, community, stability, people to love more than she perhaps loves herself – but it’s also been the source of so much trauma for her.
‘I think we’ve watched her slowly try to pick up the pieces since her stalking storyline, but she’s ultimately realised she doesn’t need to stay in a place that’s caused her so much heartbreak.
‘And it’s just as well she’s running far away to the other side of the planet, as she’s left a mountain of destruction and angry people in her wake!’
Another person who will be affected by Daisy’s goodbye is her boyfriend Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), who will ultimately reach a point of no return in the wake of her betrayal.
Charlotte continued: ‘I’m not a big crier. But let me tell you, I cried on and off for about four hours straight.
‘My last scene was with the beautiful Rob Mallard, and we were meant to cry in the scene – but we were both dry as a bone.

‘As soon as they yelled our final “cut,” we both burst into tears. Typical.
‘The Corrie gang made it so special for me. The canteen made me my favourite lunch – which made me cry. The art department drew me a beautiful card – which made me cry.
‘I would look over to Channique (Sterling-Brown) or Julia (Goulding) or Sal during our last lunch break and see them crying – which made me cry. I think I was medically dehydrated by the end of the day.’
Despite such a heartbreaking final story, Charlotte has teased that this may not be the last time we see the character.
‘It’s a very special building, and I have loved it’ she said.
‘And it’s just goodbye for now, not goodbye forever.’
