Coronation Street exit officially ruled out as character declares he’s staying after all

Coronation Street is set to be hit by a number of exits in the coming months, but one character has confirmed that they are staying in Weatherfield.
Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) recently arrived on the cobbles to surprise his siblings, leaving his business in Germany behind temporarily.
He made the trip to support brother Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) following his testicular cancer diagnosis, but got a huge shock when he learnt that sister Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) was undergoing tests for dementia.
Meanwhile, Carl’s business in Germany is in serious trouble, something he confessed to Abi Webster (Sally Carman) in tonight’s episode.
He explained that the business was about to go bust, and now a big investor had pulled out.
Abi was quick to assure Carl that Kevin would understand if he headed back to Germany to sort things out, secretly hoping that he would leave.
There has been a spark between Carl and Abi ever since they first met in Freshco’s car park, not knowing that they were somewhat related.
Abi has since done everything she can to resist temptation, while Carl has been doing his utmost to get under her skin.
Despite Abi’s encouragement, Carl insisted that he wanted to stick around for his family.
However, when he later told Kevin about the issue, he admitted that he needed to go home, as he wasn’t going to be able to deal with everything from abroad like he’d first thought.

Fortunately, after a long phone call, Carl managed to make things work so that he could stay to support his siblings.
Not everyone was thrilled by the news, however.
Abi was quick to try and paint on a smile, hiding her initial horror from her gathered family members.
With Carl sticking around, could she be set to give in to temptation?
