David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) and Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) are left fighting for their lives in Coronation Street next week, following a horrific vehicle collision.
Poor Daisy is drawn into the Platt family dramas, just as she gets offered a promising new opportunity in France.
In tonight’s episode we saw the barmaid excitedly tell step-mum Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) that she’d been offered the opportunity to work as an au pair in Europe.
Jenny was devastated to hear that she was throwing away the prospect of a family life with Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), not knowing that the father of her unborn baby is actually Kit Green (Jacob Roberts).
Daisy planned to come clean, but when Daniel revealed his intentions to purchase the Rovers and clear her of any outstanding debts with Carla Connor (Alison King), she kept shtum.
Later this week, the pressure begins to mount for Daisy as she attends her twelve week scan, whilst, around the corner, things aren’t going too swimmingly for David and his wife Shona (Julia Goulding).
Still fearful that gangster Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) is hunting him down and wanting his cash back, David meets up with dodgy prison pal Andy.
He’s paid for the latest robbery they’ve taken part in, but is keen to take on more work.
As they have their undercover conversation, Andy clocks a fella watching them in the shadows – and gives him a knowing nod. Has he set David up?
In upcoming scenes, his step-son Max Turner (Paddy Bever) is facing trial for burning down his family home.
Everyone watches on from the gallery, as the Judge gives the sentence. But what will he be dealt?
Later, after locking up the salon, David is met by Andy who is brandishing a knife and asserting that Harvey wants him dead!
As the week goes on, we’re dealt a troubling flash forward to hospital staff rushing around David as they try to save his life.
Back in the present day, Shona can sense that he’s concerned about something and assures him that they can make things right.
David heads to the pub and knocks back vodka, whilst Jenny is nursing a hangover from the night before. She’s had a blazing row with Daisy over her meddling with Daniel, and has made a drunken pass at Kit.
As Daniel walks into the boozer, Kit pulls him to one side and says that he should ask Daisy for proof about the baby’s paternity.
He tracks her down, and asks her to swear on the child’s life that he is the father.
In a moment of madness, she darts out of the awkward situation and into the street, as a paralytic David stumbled out into the road.
Suddenly, Shona spots a car hurtling towards them both – and it hits them.
Jenny, Kit, Daniel, Sarah (Tina O’Brien) and Nick (Ben Price) overhear the crash and fly out to see that both David and Daisy have been seriously injured.
The residents pray for their health and safety, as Kit begins to ask questions relating to the incident.
Will they both pull through, or is this it?
With Charlotte Jordan leaving Corrie this year, could this be her final storyline?
