SHOCKING: Investigation into Corrie Legend Timothy West’s Cause of Death Begins – REVELATIONS STUN FANS!
An inquest into the death of actor Timothy West, who starred in EastEnders and Coronation Street, has been launched after he passed away earlier this month
Esteemed actor Timothy West, known for his roles on Coronation Street and EastEnders, passed away at the age of 90 on November 12.
His children Juliet, Samuel, and Joseph West shared a touching statement: “After a long and extraordinary life on and off the stage, our darling father Timothy West died peacefully in his sleep yesterday evening. He was 90 years old.”
They added, “Tim was with friends and family at the end. He leaves his wife Prunella Scales, to whom he was married for 61 years, a sister, a daughter, two sons, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
“All of us will miss him terribly. We would like to thank the incredible NHS staff at St George’s Hospital, Tooting and at Avery Wandsworth for their loving care during his last days.”
An inquest into his death has been initiated by Assistant Coroner Jean Harkin at Westminster Coroner’s Court, where it came to light that Timothy died in a care home. Harkin noted, “The deceased was identified as Timothy West, a British citizen, aged 90 years, born on October 20, 1934 in Bradford. He was an actor, husband of Prunella West.”
The identification was confirmed “by a care home nurse who knew the deceased since the time of admission to the care home”.
The proceedings regarding Timothy’s death have been postponed for a review set for February 2025, reports the Mirror.
Timothy, who portrayed the father/grandfather of Danny Dyer’s character Mick on EastEnders, was fondly remembered by colleagues at the BBC series.
EastEnders has expressed a profound sadness at the news of actor Timothy West’s passing. In a statement released by the show, they said: “We are extremely saddened to hear that Timothy West has passed away. Timothy joined EastEnders as Stan and his presence as the patriarch of the Carter family was immediately felt. He will forever be in our hearts. We send all our love and thoughts to Timothy’s family and friends.”
The veteran actor devoted his final years to supporting his wife Prunella as she lived with dementia.
Prunella was diagnosed with the condition in 2014, but signs had been noted by Timothy as early as 2001 when he saw her in a play. After over 60 years together, Timothy opened up in a rare November 2023 interview with BBC Breakfast, admitting the situation “isn’t going to get better.”
Reminiscing about their time together, he remarked, “It hasn’t really been hard work has it? ,” prompting Prunella, 91, to add: “No, he is the person I love and I enjoy being with…” Timothy concluded with: “That is about it I think! ” He also shared his initial realization of Prunella’s decline, recalling: “I came to see a play that Pru was doing in Greenwich. I went to see the first night and it was good, much enjoyed by the audience and then I went to see it again and I thought ‘She’s not totally with it’. We went to see a specialist and he said I am sorry this is just something that happens to you when you get older. It is not going to get any easier but we cope with it and we manage.”
