Coronation Street confirms major episode change for Joel killer reveal
There'll be a slightly longer wait.
Coronation Street has confirmed a major episode change for the reveal of Joel Deering’s killer in this Friday’s episode (November 15).
The ITV soap will air a special episode with a series of flashbacks from that fateful night interspersed with Kit’s police interview, and viewers will finally discover who is behind Joel’s death.
In October, ITV changed the way they release both Corrie and Emmerdale, with the latest episodes of both soaps dropping on ITVX each morning at 7am.
While the new instalments continue to air in their traditional ITV1 slots that evening, the channel has made the change to give viewers more flexibility in how they watch their favourite soaps.
However, for this Friday’s upcoming special episode, there will be a big change where fans will have to wait a little longer for the exciting reveal.
Corrie has confirmed to Digital Spy that Friday’s hour-long episode will not be released early on ITVX, with the 8pm ITV1 broadcast being the first chance fans will get to see the thrilling outcome of Joel’s murder investigation.
Last week, it was also announced that there will be a live special airing on ITVX at 9pm following the big reveal, titled Coronation Street Live – Killer on the Cobbles.
Hosted by Sharon Marshall, soap writer and star of This Morning, the show will be broadcast live from the cobbles, with exclusive interviews from cast members who will share their reactions to the killer twist.
Monday’s instalment of Corrie saw DS Lisa Swain arrested for Joel’s murder, after her CS spray was found near the confirmed murder weapon.
But convinced that Lisa isn’t responsible for the crime, Carla suddenly remembered that on the night of Joel’s death, she spotted Max and Lauren putting a suitcase into a car – with Joel’s own suitcase still yet to be found by the police.
As the week continues, Lisa tells Carla that she thinks someone planted her CS spray and she is being framed by the real murderer.
Lisa decides to retrace her steps and find out who could have stolen her spray, but will this lead her to the killer?
