Emmerdale has confirmed that Tom and Belle King’s dark storyline will reach its final chapter next month.

Show bosses have announced plans for a special hour-long episode in December, which will bring the ITV soap’s long-running domestic abuse story to a conclusion.

In a unique twist, the episode will feature the voices of real-life survivors of domestic abuse as part of the soap’s partnership with support charities.

Producer Laura Shaw commented: “We knew from the outset that Belle would need some sort of closure on Tom and we know our Emmerdale audience always look forward to our villains getting their comeuppance.

“We don’t want to spoil the outcome of this story and reveal what will happen to Tom, but needless to say, Belle’s going to be in a much better place by this Christmas.”

Straight afterwards, there’ll be a rare live behind-the-scenes special on ITVX featuring interviews with Calum Lill – who played Joel – and other cast members as they give their instant reactions to the big reveal.

Team Digital Spy paid a visit to the Corrie set in Manchester this week, so we’ll also have a chat with Calum going live right here on the site at 9pm on Friday.

Xander headed out of the Bay to take on a management internship at a hotel in Melbourne, which was part of the business course he’d recently enrolled onto.

The strange McQueen house plonked in the middle of the Hollyoaks village is officially gone for good.

Next week’s episodes confirm that Tony has acquired the lease to the building and plans to re-launch his old restaurant, The Hutch.

The business closed down a few years ago and fans were baffled when the McQueens moved into the empty building, but in a classic example of a new soap producer coming in and reversing decisions, the location is now being restored back to its former purpose.
