ITV Coronation Street to bring back iconic killer – and it’s bad news for the Platts
Coronation Street is reportedly set to welcome back a nasty bad guy in a harrowing new plot that will rock the cobbles - and the Platts - to the core
Coronation Street is said to be welcoming back one of its most notorious villains.
Clayton Hibbs (played by Callum Harrison) first appeared on the soap in 2016 as Shona Platt’s (Julia Goulding) estranged son and quickly caused havoc.
In a shocking 2016 storyline, Clayton stabbed David Platt’s (Jack P Shephard) wife Kylie (Paula Lane), leaving David to hold his dying wife in his arms.
David attempted to kill Clayton in retaliation, but the troublesome teen was eventually arrested and convicted of murder. He was sentenced to between fifteen years to life and last appeared on the show in 2020 from prison.
According to The Metro, actor Callum Harrison has already filmed scenes for Clayton’s return, which are due to air next month. However, it’s reported that his return will not be permanent.
Clayton is said to be making his return
The Platt family, who have recently faced numerous challenges, will undoubtedly be shaken by Clayton’s return.
Not only has David been revealed to have stolen Damon’s (Ciaran Griffiths) illicit money, but Gail Platt (Helen Worth) was hospitalised last week after suffering a heart attack, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Furthermore, later this year, Gail will be departing the cobbles after 50 years. It was confirmed earlier this year that actress Helen Worth had decided to leave the show.
