Coronation Street to air on Sunday in TV scheduling change
Don't miss the latest Weatherfield action.
Coronation Street has scheduled in a rare Sunday episode later this month.
The long-running soap will air on the weekend – just as a one-off – as the show makes up for an episode lost due to TV schedule changes.
Next week, Coronation Street will screen as usual on Monday, October 21 and Wednesday, October 23 at 8pm on ITV1.
There will be no episode on Friday, October 25, because ITV1 will be airing a live England game as the Lionesses take on Germany in a friendly at Wembley. This also means there will be no Emmerdale episode that night.
Fortunately, it’s not all bad news for soap fans as Coronation Street will air for an hour from 8pm on Sunday, October 27 to make up for the disruption.
After that, Coronation Street‘s schedule will return to normal with regular 8pm editions on Monday, October 28, Wednesday, October 30 and Friday, November 1.
On Thursday, October 31, Emmerdale will air at the earlier time of 7pm on ITV1 as there’s a ‘Budget Special’ episode of The Martin Lewis Money Show at 8pm.
Of course, Coronation Street and Emmerdale fans now have more flexibility over when and how to watch the latest drama from the cobbles and the village.
From this week, both soaps release the latest episodes at 7am on ITVX on the day of transmission ahead of their ITV1 broadcast that evening.
Coronation Street and Emmerdale‘s executive producer Iain MacLeod recently commented: “This is great news for soap fans! Having the ability to catch your favourite show at a time that suits you fits perfectly with people’s busy days and flexible lives.
“And who doesn’t love the idea of watching the latest Dingle drama in the Dales or calamity on the cobbles on the tram to work, or over a brew after dropping the kids at school?”
