Coronation Street’s Ronnie and Ed to face suspicion in Joel murder mystery
Are the brothers implicated in Joel's murder?
Coronation Street brothers Ronnie and Ed Bailey will face suspicion next week following the murder of Joel Deering.
The soap recently confirmed that Joel’s body will be found floating in the river in upcoming scenes, two weeks after his mysterious disappearance.
A post-mortem reveals that the villain died from two blows to the head with a heavy weapon before entering the water, meaning his death is now a murder investigation.
In scenes airing next week, Dee-Dee informs Ed and Ronnie that Joel was murdered, and that the police believe he was attacked with a crowbar.
Later on, Ronnie discovers Debbie’s plan for a surprise party to mark his 55th birthday, but his good mood soon falters when Kit and a colleague arrive to question him and Ed.
After all, Dee-Dee is Ronnie’s niece and Ed’s daughter, so the pair would have motive to exact revenge on Joel given he was engaged to Dee-Dee before his evil side was exposed.
However, Ronnie insists that he was home alone the night Joel went missing, while Ed claims he was at No.3 with Dee-Dee and Michael.
When it’s discovered that Joel’s address was found in Ronnie’s satnav, Ronnie explains that he last used his satnav when he and Michael helped Joel move out of his flat months prior.
However, at Ronnie’s party, Michael reveals that they actually drove to Joel’s flat in his car, not Ronnie’s.
Debbie realises Ronnie lied about the reason for Joel’s address being in the satnav, but what will she do with this information? And could Ronnie implicated in Joel’s murder?
