Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright have added a new luxury feature to their £3.5 million Essex mansion – a pergola worth a staggering £30,000.

The couple, who have been married since 2015 and reside together in Essex, regularly offers glimpses into their home via their respective Instagram accounts. Recently they have been documenting the extensive renovation of their property – as work began to improve their home in 2019 and concluded in August last year.

But while the renovations were largely complete, prompting the 37-year-old former Coronation Street actress and her reality star husband to host a celebratory pool party, it seems the pair can’t stop making updates to their luxury home. Michelle and Mark, 37, have now enhanced their property further with their outdoor feature.

In a recent post, Michelle shared an update on their garden, unveiling the impressive pergola. This stylish outdoor area features a bar, kitchen, dining space, and outdoor heating – while the summery setup, built on tiled flooring and surrounded by glass windows, even includes a pizza oven, which Michelle put to use in the post.

The star shared a snap of a pizza covered in pepperoni and onions and it was baked to perfection in her outdoor oven. Last week, Michelle also revealed another personal touch to their home: a romantic piece of artwork dedicated to Mark.

The striking piece, created by artist David Howarth, gave her “goosebumps” and now hangs proudly in their kitchen – and effectively represents an Instagram inspiration quote that has been printed out in real life. Known for his unique style, Howarth’s smaller pieces typically sell for around £30, with larger commissions, like Michelle’s, priced at approximately £1,600.

Michelle shared a snap of the artwork alongside a gushing statement, writing online: “‘There’s a place in my heart that will never belong to anyone but you…’ @davohowarth has done it again…honestly, I get goosebumps every time I look at it. A personal piece of art that I will cherish forever (just like the one he created in my hallway a few years ago). So special.”

In an interview with The Observer last year, Michelle opened up about the renovation project she and Mark oversaw – and explained how gobsmacked she was when the work was finally completed. The star said: “I was filming in Australia and hadn’t seen the house for months. And when I walked in, Mark had lit all the candles and… I couldn’t speak for five minutes.

“He was like, ‘What do you think?’ I couldn’t find the words to say how I felt, because I was so overwhelmed. I just burst out crying. It still gets me emotional. Because we’ve worked really hard for it. We’ve had to make a lot of sacrifices.”

Earlier this year, Michelle made waves by starring in the Netflix drama Fool Me Once. Her performance drew so much attention, it sparked rumours she could be in the running to play the next Bond girl. Meanwhile, she can soon be seen in season 6 of Brassic – which will air on Sky on 26 September.
