Caitlin Clark, the rookie for the Indiana Fever, has made a significant impact with her three-point shooting throughout her college career with the Iowa Hawkeyes. Although she currently leads the Fever in scoring for the first half of the 2024 WNBA season, her three-point shooting efficiency has notably declined compared to her college days.

As the Indiana Fever return from their month-long break for the 2024 Paris Olympics, coach Christie Sides provided a positive update on Clark during Tuesday’s practice, highlighting her improvements over the past few weeks.

Throughout her four-year college career, Clark made 37.7% of her 1,452 three-point attempts. In her rookie WNBA season, that percentage has dropped to 32.7% on 217 attempts. As noted by Sides, the rest she received after the All-Star break could help Clark improve her shooting performance as the season resumes next week.

One aspect of Clark’s game that has transitioned well from college to the WNBA is her playmaking. She averaged 8.2 assists per game during her time at Iowa and is maintaining that average through 26 WNBA games.

Clark and the Fever’s next game is against the Phoenix Mercury on Friday, August 16.
