Caitlin Clark discusses the Indiana Fever offseason, free agent signings

Caitlin Clark recently shared her excitement about the Indiana Fever’s offseason, praising the team’s front office for making key acquisitions that could significantly impact their performance.

“I think Kelly and Amber have done a great job finding pieces that fit,” Clark said. “It makes me excited about the future. With Steph and her staff coming in and having the chance to work with Keith all offseason, it’s been really fun. I’ve also had the opportunity to train with DB, and as more players wrap up their overseas commitments, we’ll start coming together in the gym. It’ll be exciting to see how everything clicks.”

A major focus for the team has been adding experienced players, particularly those with championship pedigrees. Clark emphasized how crucial this was for the Fever, especially after last year’s playoff experience exposed their lack of postseason-tested veterans.

“When we were in the playoffs, it was clear we lacked experience,” she explained. “Bringing in players who understand what it takes to win at the highest level, who know how to compete in the Finals and win championships, is exactly what we needed in our locker room. But beyond their skill, they’re also great leaders and amazing people, which was a priority for our front office.”

Clark also spoke about the competitive fire within the team and how new additions like Natasha and DB will enhance that intensity.

“You want teammates who are just as competitive as you are,” she said. “Training camp is going to be really fun. That’s when we compete live, figure out lineups, and push each other to get better. Seeing veterans in their 12th year still striving to improve is inspiring and motivates all of us.”

She also praised the Fever’s commitment to building a strong locker room culture, saying that the team only pursued players who would contribute both on and off the court.

“These are players that every team wanted because of their leadership, knowledge, and work ethic,” Clark said. “We were only going to bring in people who fit that mold. It’s exciting to see the pieces come together and to know that players want to be here.”

Beyond the roster moves, Clark expressed gratitude for the Fever’s investment in the team, including the new practice facility and overall commitment to women’s basketball.

“It’s incredible,” she said. “I feel really lucky to be here, to stay in the Midwest, and to be part of a franchise that’s truly investing in women’s sports. The excitement we’re generating isn’t just in Indiana—it’s nationwide. The next few years will be amazing for this franchise, and hopefully, we’ll bring home some championships.”

With a strengthened roster and unwavering support from ownership, Clark and the Fever are poised for an exciting season ahead.
