Caitlin Clark’s Competitive Edge Shines in New Indiana Fever Practice Footage
Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever officially resumed basketball activities last week in preparation for the return of the 2024 WNBA season. After a nearly two-week break following the WNBA All-Star game and a month-long hiatus for the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Fever are gearing up for the final stretch.
On Monday, Clark and her teammates engaged in a spirited pre-practice competition. The entire roster was divided into two teams for a scavenger hunt, with Clark leading one team and Lexie Hull leading the other. The players frantically searched the practice facility for the designated items, with Clark’s team ultimately claiming victory. Never one to shy away from competition, Clark couldn’t resist taunting the other team, playfully shouting, “How’s it feel to lose?”
Clark’s rookie season has been nothing short of remarkable. Through 26 games, the former Iowa Hawkeye is averaging 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and a league-leading 8.2 assists per game. Her exceptional play has positioned the Fever for a potential playoff spot, with the team holding an 11-15 record.
Clark has also shattered numerous records in her first year, becoming the first rookie in WNBA history to record a triple-double. In her most recent game, she set a new single-game assist record with 19 dimes.
The Fever will return to the court on Friday, August 16, to face the Phoenix Mercury. With only 14 games remaining in the 2024 season, not counting the playoffs, Clark and her team will be looking to make a strong push towards the postseason.
