Joel Deering (Calum Lill) continues to torment Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) in Coronation Street. The latest spoiler video picks up from the intense events of last week’s episodes.
In recent scenes, Joel orchestrated a mugging to leave Lauren without her keys, trapping her in his flat. He had been holding her there, ostensibly to help fund her new life in Ireland, but his true intention was far more sinister. Joel’s plan was to ensure their unborn baby’s death.
The horrifying scenes depicted Joel researching drugs that could induce premature labor. After acquiring the medication, he crushed the pills and secretly mixed them into Lauren’s soup.
Isolated in the flat, Lauren began experiencing contractions as Joel locked her in. Fortunately, her ex-boyfriend Max Turner (Paddy Bever) tracked her location, arranged for firefighters to break down the door, and rushed her to the hospital.
When Joel learned of the situation, he and his fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) hurried to apologize for Lauren’s loss. To their shock, they discovered that the baby boy was still alive.
In the upcoming video, Joel arrives with a balloon and a gift, feigning innocence. He insists that Lauren can’t raise the baby alone and reiterates his offer of help—on the condition that she doesn’t send the incriminating email to the police that would expose his crimes.
