Coronation Street reveals full details of Christmas proposal story
One character is taken by surprise.
Coronation Street has confirmed the full details of Daniel Osbourne and Bethany Platt’s proposal storyline.
The pair’s future will be revealed on Christmas Day as Daniel decides that it’s the right time to pop the question.
Corrie has been exploring relationship challenges for the couple since Bethany’s botched plastic surgery earlier in the year.
Most recently, Bethany was upset to discover that Daniel had ignored her request to give away her best clothes to charity.
Bethany no longer felt comfortable wearing her old wardrobe items, but Daniel went behind her back and stored them at the Rovers Return in case she changed her mind.
Once the truth came out, Bethany was deeply disappointed that Daniel had involved his ex-fiancée Daisy Midgeley in a situation that’s so personal to her.
In scenes airing on Christmas Day, Daniel is pleased to see that Bethany has dressed up in her familiar style for Gail Rodwell’s wedding. Daniel is relieved that Bethany seems to be slowly regaining her confidence and is acting like her old self again.
Later, Bethany hands over Daniel’s Christmas present, which is an expensive vintage watch. Bethany is underwhelmed by Daniel’s reaction to her choice of gift and she accuses him of not wanting to be with her anymore.
Daniel dismisses this, insisting that Bethany couldn’t be more wrong.
Dropping down to one knee, Daniel asks Bethany if she’ll marry him. Has he done enough to convince her that he’s committed to their future, or will she suspect that he still has feelings for Daisy?
