Home and Away star death ‘sealed’ as he’s launched off motorbike in horror car crash
SPOILERS: Home and Away's Remi Carter heads to pick up Eden Fowler when disaster strikes as the guitarist is left lifeless on the road after being struck by an oncoming vehicle
Remi Carter’s life hangs in the balance as he is mowed down by a car in Australia’s series finale of Home and Away.
The Summer Bay favourite, played by Adam Rowland, is on his way to help Eden (Stephanie Panozzo) when disaster strikes. When Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) puts forward the idea of whisking Eden away on a romantic camping trip getaway, she is less then enthusiastic but does her best to embrace the simple life.
However, it looks as though Eden’s way out comes sooner than expected when a tick is found burrowed in her neck. Seeing this as the perfect excuse to leave, Eden sneaks off to call best pal Remi and begs him to come and collect her.
But just as Remi is coming down the road on his motorbike, he is struck by an oncoming car. Remi is thrown from his bike and tumbles across the road as his lifeless body sprawls out across the ground.
Meanwhile, after suffering a near-fatal heart attack, Summer Bay rallies around Salt manager Mackenzie (Emily Weir) as she recovers from surgery. Australian fans watched as Mack was diagnosed with Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection, a condition that involves a tear forming in the wall of a coronary artery.
“SCAD can slow or block blood flow to the heart, causing a heart attack, heart rhythm problems or sudden death,” Emily explained. “It mostly affects women and can occur at any stage of life. The cause of it is still unknown, so it causes Mac a lot of stress.”
After her life was saved by newcomer Levi (Tristan Gorey), Mack struggled to follow the cardiothoracic surgeon’s strict instructions to rest and recover. As she begins to come to terms with her diagnosis, the Bay is left reeling when she is found unresponsive at home and rushed to hospital for a second time.
As Bree (Juliet Godwin) and Levi rush Mack into emergency surgery, her loved ones gather round fearing the worst. The scenes will air in the UK in the new year, at the same time the new doctor makes his highly-anticipated debut.
Teasing what fans can expect from his character, the actor told 7 News: “Levi comes in during a really high-stakes storyline. He’s fighting to save the life of a central character. It’s the start of a big storyline that will go on for a while and will certainly have fans gripped.”
