Home and Away’s Cash Risks Breaking the Rules in Desperate Search Following Sister’s Tragic Death
Home and Away airs worrying scenes for Cash Newman on UK screens next week.
The grieving policeman sparks concern from his loved ones when he becomes obsessed with contacting a recipient of his late sister Felicity’s organs.
Earlier this month, Cash agreed that Felicity’s organs could be donated to help save the lives of other people. In emotional scenes airing this week, Cash receives a letter to inform him that five other people got to live because of Felicity.
One of the recipients, who was given Felicity’s heart, writes an additional note to her family to thank them.
Although Cash is interested in finding out more about this person, John Palmer reminds him that there are strict anonymity rules which will prevent him from getting too close.
In follow-on scenes next week, Cash refuses to accept this and asks his former police colleague Rose Delaney for a risky favour.
Cash admits that he wants to find out the identity of the letter-sender, so he asks her to open up a fake investigation and request the crucial information.
Rose firmly refuses, making it clear that she’s not prepared to break the rules to help Cash.
As Cash resorts to Plan B, he starts searching around internet forums for leads on the woman who received Felicity’s heart and lungs.
Cash is pleased when he spots online posts from a woman who received a heart and lungs just 14 hours after Felicity’s life support was turned off. The timings match perfectly, so he’s keen to investigate further.
When Cash excitedly mentions this to Tane Parata, he’s disappointed that his friend doesn’t think it’s a good idea.
Cash is spiteful in response, snapping that Tane seems to have moved on quickly from Felicity’s death. He immediately apologises for the harsh jibe, but it’s already too late as Tane is reluctant to forgive him for speaking out of turn.
Later, an undeterred Cash tells John that he has made direct contact with the woman and now plans to meet her.
John is concerned that Cash has broken the anonymity rule and is clearly not in a good place. Can anyone stop him before his plans go wrong?
