Navigating Grief: Harper’s Dilemma and Cash’s Heartbreak
When will she tell Tane the truth?
Home and Away spoiler: Harper’s secrecy sparks concern
Harper turns down Dana and Xander’s offer of breakfast, lost in her deep concern for Tane. But the pregnancy is going well and Dana knows it can’t stay secret from the father much longer. Harper feels that it’s not the right time, with Tane’s grief being so fresh, but Dana gives her the alternate perspective. She suggests that the wonderful news could give Tane something to hold on to in the midst of his pain.
Harper argues that her heart is set on making sure the reveal happens at the right time, not because Tane’s struggling. Later, Xander reveals that he’s concerned Harper always seems to have a reason not to tell Tane.
Meanwhile, Cash is deep in the early stages of grief and busies himself by clearing out Felicity’s things. Eden tries to reel him back in to reality, worried he might get rid of things he’d regret not keeping. He’s halted when he stumbles on a photo of Felicity that brings back vivid childhood memories. He sits back, weighed down by the pain of his loss.
Then, a delivery arrives for Felicity. It’s a selection of wedding dresses she’d ordered for Eden to help her find the perfect dress. Eden is moved by the gesture from Felicity. Together, Cash and Eden experience some of the hardest moments of their grief.
Eden encourages Cash to talk to Gary, who still doesn’t know Felicity has passed away, but he’s just not ready to make that phone call. He’s devastated that he never gave Gary the chance to say goodbye to Felicity, that he sat there for days pretending that Felicity wasn’t already gone. Tane helps Cash work up the courage to make the phone call.
Elsewhere, Mackenzie decides to go back to work, after Tane tells her it’s what Felicity would have wanted. Before long, a supplier’s questions about Felicity’s absence bring Mackenzie to the brink of tears. Her low mood causes her to be snappy with the customers, and Xander has to step in. She decides to close Salt for the rest of the day, as it just doesn’t feel right.
Later, Perri gets an unexpected call from his dad, but he won’t let Tane get involved.
