Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark is set to take the court on Friday, just a day after the second half of the 2024 WNBA season tips off. After the Olympics break, the best women’s basketball league is set to restart on Thursday with three mouthwatering games lined up for hoops fans.

The Indiana Fever will host the Phoenix Mercury at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on August 16. Fans are eagerly anticipating the game, as rookie Clark will be in action. It will be the third time the former Iowa superstar will feature in the game against Phoenix this season.

The tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (4:30 p.m. PT). The game will be broadcast live in ION, while basketball fans will also have the option to livestream the Indiana Fever vs. Phoenix Mercury game on WNBA League Pass. Caitlin Clark vs. Phoenix Mercury

In the previous two matchups against the Phoenix Mercury, she played a key role in helping the Indiana Fever secure victories on both occasions. During the Fever’s 88-82 win at the Footprint Center in Phoenix on June 30, Clark fell one rebound short of a triple-double.

Clark scored 15 points, grabbed nine rebounds and dished out 12 assists in 39 minutes and 26 seconds. The two-time Rookie of the Month endured a rough shooting night as she shot 4-of-14 from the field, including 2-of-10 from the 3-point range.

During Indiana’s 95-86 victory at home on July 12, Clark erupted with a monster double-double performance. The point guard scored 20 points and dished out 13 assists in 38 minutes and 26 seconds.

The two-time College Player of the Year also grabbed six rebounds, recorded one steal and two block shots. She shot 8-of-16 from the floor, including 2-of-7 from beyond the arc.

Drafted as the No. 1 pick, Caitlin Clark entered the WNBA with high expectations. Although it took the rookie some time to adjust to the league, it wasn’t long before she hit her stride and began delivering game-winning performances for the Fever.

After 26 games, Clark averages 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 8.2 assists and 1.5 steals. The rookie leads the league in assists and turnovers (5.6). Clark leads all rookies in six statistical categories, including points, assists, steals, field goals made (138), 3-pointers made (71) and free-throw percentage (89.1%).

The point guard is shooting 40.5 percent from the field, including 32.7 percent from 3-point range.
